WETLAND SCIENTIST
ABOUT MEI'm an environmental scientist at the San Francisco Estuary Institute where I study the effects of nutrient inputs from wastewater on San Francisco Bay’s water quality. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) with a focus on salt marsh ecology and biogeochemistry. I'm originally from Philadelphia and Montreal, and I spent years living in Australia where I completed my PhD at Griffith University.
Research interests: Biogeochemistry, ecology, nutrient cycling, water quality, salt marsh biogeochemistry, wetland plant ecology, impacts of oil, climate change, decomposition dynamics, jellyfish ecology |
RESEARCHRecent ProjectsMy research focuses on the ecology and biogeochemistry of a variety of systems, from wetlands to the deep-sea.
My current research is studying water quality in San Francisco Bay, however, for my postdoc I investigated the effects of oil on salt marsh ecosystems, and for my PhD I studied the collapse of jellyfish blooms. |
